Farewell Joe Torre

So the Joe Torre era ended today after he turned down the Yankees offer of $5 million for 1 year + a potential $3 million in post-season bonuses. I felt that coming during the post game interview after the Yankees were eliminated. He said his farewells and looked very relieved. He wasn't going to come back whether it was rejecting an offer or getting fired. That's disappointing for both the players and the fans, but I totally understand him and think he deserves to relax now. Torre enjoyed managing such a great group of guys, but the unnecessary pressure of Steinbrenner is more than enough reason to retire and relax. Hopefully the players still stick with the team after this. It's a little uncertain because Torre's departure wasn't under bad terms. If he was fired, I think Rivera and Posada would most certainly not come back. The offseason should be very interesting and it's going to start with A-Rod, who needs to make a decision 10 days after the World Series.
