Why Not One More?

The Yankees just finished the 3rd game of their series against the Twins. The first two were walk-off wins. Why not another? Today's ended with a Damon homer in the 10th! I thought it would end in the 9th because we had Gardner on 2nd with 1 out. Cabrera had a nice bunt to get him there. Gardner tried to go from 2nd all the way on an infield base hit. He almost made it too, but Twins catcher, Joe Mauer faked a throw to first and then dove for the plate, tagging out Gardner. Strategically, it looked like a bad play on Gardner's part, but I thought he was caught by Mauer's fake. If Mauer threw it to 1st, Gardner would've scored easily. It was a risky play that could only be executed by Gardner. Mauer made an amazing play to get him out.

The bullpen also came through. Rivera shutout the 9th and Aceves shutout the 10th. Rivera will always be lights out, but it's good to see the other guys perform in pressure situations.
