In tonight's Yankees game, CC Sabathia had a ho hitter through the 5ht inning. At the start of the 6th, he gave up the first hit. As soon as that happened, I knew the shutout would be gone as well. Sure enough, it was true. I've seen it happen before and it always follows the same pattern. Pitchers will say that they're not thinking about it, but whenever I see this pattern, I know they're not telling the whole truth. They are very aware when they blow the no-hitter. They become either frustrated or try to hard after it and end up blowing the shutout. Fortunately, the Yankees had enough offense to get the win.
Jeter kept his hit streak going. Posada hasn't missed a beat since coming back from the DL, picking up right where he left off before he got injured.
