Jeter came back to the Yankees 2 games ago and although the team has done well, he was definitely missed. He was hitless in his first game, but defensive plays really showed he was 100% healthy. Nunez was great on the offensive side, but terrible on defense. He probably made more errors than Jeter in an entire year! In last night's game, Jeter got his offense back with a single and double to pull within 4 hits of 3000.
I wonder if the minor league rehab was even necessary. The numbers Jeter has against the Mets... or the NL for that matter, it probably would have been the same level of difficulty. He'd likely be at 3000 also... and in NY.
