Heat Wave: The Commute

Something I noticed this week as I went to and from work... buses and trains had considerably less passengers. I got a seat on nearly every bus ride and trains were' packed like a sardine can during the rush. There's no holiday and no long weekend for people to chain vacation days to. So I think many took personal days to avoid the heat and bad traveling conditions. As a result, it made traveling conditions better! I also heard that its one of the top weeks for people to go on vacation... not sure why though. If you take it before or after Independence Day weekend, you get and extra day or two. You use up more personal time by taking this week off.
