New Train Tantrum

I was taking the B/D train this morning and also on the platform was a mother and 2 children. An F train passed by on the opposite side of the platform. It was one of the new cars... bright lights and shiny metal. The younger kid... maybe 3 years old really wanted to ride the new train. They would never make it to their destination if they took the shiny new F, but that wasn't important. The kid starts throwing a tantrum and shouting "new train... new train!" The B arrived... one of the old, dirty trains! We all got on and the tantrum continued. In an effort to calm him down, his mother said they were going to switch to the new train. It didn't matter. He wanted it now... even if he had to jump off the B! I had never seen anything like it. Since when did kids get sensitive about what train model they ride!?
