I've written before about walking to the right in subway stations if you're slow. Some people get their bodies to the right correctly, but still take up the left lane with their flailing left arm. It's very frustrating to have one of these in front of you when you're trying to go up the steps. It's like there's enough space visually to pass, but it's being blocked by that swinging arm. There is a way though! You have to treat it like a video game and time your dash correctly. Wait until the left arm is at its forward most point and make a run before it starts swinging back again. It takes practice, but keep trying!
